Need some advice

I am currently working on my d7 upgrade. Now I am my concern is about the data migration. I am setting up my d7 install with lots of custom work, but I wanted to see what the site looks like in use so I migrated over the profiles.

Now I realize that was huge mistake because its going to be at least three weeks before I am ready to launch the new install. Problem is can only run the transfers once!!!???? So now every new member on the live site is going to be left behing on the d7 install...What to do?

Do I spend three weeks setting my install then once i get it just right delete it and start over gain, so I can transfer over the most update version of the live site. Or do I close the new site off to any new members, photos events ext....something doesnt make sense here.

Do I transfer every thing over from the live site to the d7 install get them when its ready to go live delete everything from the data base and re run the data migration?

ok...Today I have been frustrated since I woke up so I am not thinking straight.

So if I am correct, I can go into the data base delete what has been migrated over and delete the migration transfers as well and this will let me re transfer everything over once I am ready to go live.....

Still welcoming suggestions on the best procedure for this...Thank

You might just be able delete all members from the d7 site from admin, uninstall and reinstall the migration module and then run the migration again.

As long as you did not migrate blogs or any of the other stuff during your test, that should be the easy solution.

I have not tested this of course, but it should work.

If you migrated over more than just the profiles, then you may need to delete other stuff like blogs or any thing else that does not get deleted when the members are deleted. You may also want to check all the directories where photos and stuff are stored to make sure dolphin deleted the data before you re run the migration.
