I need to ad an item to my form registration page where a student who is registering can choose from a long list of colleges. I have all the colleges on a separate database. How can I add a field in the registration page in dolphin where a student can choose a college from a long list? thank you

Administration - builders - predefined values - create new  ...

If you called it colleges you would add:

#!colleges  in the value field under builders - profile fields - join fields - colleges.

Under the advanced tab you can pick between Lkey or lkey 2  - Lkey = abbreviation - lkey2 full college name 

If you want to import a bunch at once you can look in the database for table sys_predifined_values
