Hi Guys,
I have install Dolphin but I am having trouble.
So far, On the homepage navigation, The Dashboard dropdown, When it should say "Avatar" it says "_bx_ava_avatar".
Also, On the Orca Forum Extension, The languages are messed up because it says "[L[Forums Index]]" and "[L[Manage Forum]]". These codes are all over the place!
See My Installation: http://bubblechat.uk.to.

When it should say "Avatar" it says "_bx_ava_avatar" - you should change you language string for : _bx_ava_avatar in the: Settings>Language Settings go to part and look for that string, edit them to Avatar and click Save...
Also, On the Orca Forum Extension, The languages are messed up because
it says "[L[Forums Index]]" and "[L[Manage Forum]]". These codes are
all over the place! - Go to admin part Modules>Orca Forum chose it you will enter as a admin to Orca, couple of time click #recompile language"... That's it, refresh the page...
|
Actually, the issue with the Avatar menu link showing up as an uncompiled language string is because the module has not yet been installed. For some reason, BoonEx has the link in the menu by default.
Go to Admin > Tools > Modules and install the Avatar module.
As avantguardia said. Orca does not compile its languages by default, so you will need to go to Admin > Modules > Orca Forum and then click on Compile Languages. A pop-up box should appear saying the language was successfully compiled, and you should then reload the page.

OK, My Avatars issue is now fixed (I needed to install the module).
My Orca issue is still happening though, On Orca Forum, I click "[L[Compile Lang:]]En" then refresh and nothing happens! it's still bugged?

It works for people who properly setup their installations, so its on your side. That being said, does your server meet the requirements to run Dolphin?
And this is a stretch, but I've seen people hide their uncompleted Dolphin installations behind a password-protected directory, which will cause all sorts of issues for things such as compiling languages in Orca.

Well, Dolphin has installed perfectly and it works fine everywhere else?
Also, Another question: How do I change it so under 18's can set their Date of Birth? Currently it limits you to only over 18's?

Well, it can install, but there are things along the way that require settings on your server. For example, is your PHP.ini file properly configured?
As for that question, you can change the lowest age that can register for access on Dolphin by going to Admin > Advanced Settings > Profiles > Lowest possible age to join the site - there, you can enter any number you like.

I'm not sure because it's a shared server |

Go to Admin > Tools > Host tools > PHP Info and check to make sure your server's PHP settings are in-line with Dolphin's requirements.

What exactly does the output from the error say?

it litterally only says "Database Query Error"

Looks to me like a connection issue with your database, and a search through the forums shows that this should be resolved within a few minutes.

is it automatically resolved or do I have to do something? |

Try waiting a few minutes to see if it resolves itself.

and how come it's only on the homepage? All other parts of my site are working? |

Actually, you should receive an email from Dolphin when an error occurs. Check your email you specified during installation and post the contents, if any.

For some reason, it hasn't sent me an email?
how weird?
|
undo any changes prior that error ;) |
All I did was start the Cron Job off and it killed it
Is there a way I can debug it?
|
Aaah.... I have debugged it and it was because I uninstalled the Orca Forum Module but my index page has "New Forum Posts" on it.... |
After you compile your Orca Language it's still going to give the same page. You need to then create the forum areas once you have compiled the language. See the manage forums? Go ahead and click that.
|
UPDATE: OK, So far I have worked out that if I install the Orca Forum Module, My index page works.
If it's Uninstalled, I get a query error! EVEN IF the New Forum Posts Widget is not there?
I don't want the Orca Forum module (because it doesn't work [scroll up for that]).
So how can I uninstall it without breaking my index page?

When I click on manage forums, it does nothing

jamesking,
i took a look at your site and the possibilty is that you do not have php compiled with xslt and or xml. check your php info as suggested from one of the other members on here and it will tell you your php build.

So, how can I uninstall my forum without it messing up anything else? |
On my site The Orca language compiling is not working. With Firefox after click the langauage link I got this popup screen witch: Language files have been successfully compiled
But nothing changes. I cleaned all more times. I had no problems with this in RC3 So its not a server problem on my side.
Forum its itself is working pretty well Kids first |

Think yourself lucky! I don't even get a pop-up!
So, Can someone tell me how I can get rid of it without it killing my index page?
Can I wipe it from my DB somehow?
|
hmmm Orca has a link with Groups. So if you delete or uninstall Orca, Groups will give errors to. What you can do is to hide the Forum link from navigation menu. Make it hidden for guest/members.
