how was your installation done - manually or using an auto-installer. If done manually, what ftp program did you use. If using an auto-installer, that may be the problem.

Hi

I used Softabulous from Arvixe. What to do now?

Download latest version and upload?

If I am not mistaken - the Softabulous is an auto-installer. If that is correct, the best option is to do a manual install. There are many tutorials on how to do a manual install if you are not familiar with doing so.

Thanks I will try manual upload.

Hi

Even after manual upload it was not working, I uninstalled all pluggins and it started working, now installing one by one to figure out who was THAT!

Ok. Explain this to me.

If you are unable to login. Then how on earth did you manage to get in to install the modules in the first place. Then again to un-install them.

It makes no sense to me. So what plugins are you talking about? You can't possibly be talking about the dolphin modules because you can't install them unless you can login.

Sounds like the problem I had/am having, I did a manual install and the login button would not work; although I could login using the form of course, and no tinymce.  Turning off js cache and compression helped but still having issues on two fresh installs, one is 7.0.9 which won't load the toolbars in either FF or Chrome and 7.1.4 in which FF works and Chrome is broken even though all the bits are on the page for the toolbars to load.  Why, there are no modules installed on either one and no javascript except what came out of the box.

Don't dismiss this guy; while I am not an expert, I am not exactly a noob either where Dolphin is concern.

As I said in my last post on this, this is the sort of issue that can cause people to walk away from Dolphin; I would with what I am seeing with my problem, and cost Andrew some money; are you listening Andrew, do you care Andrew?

Seen this too.....Login link on homepage not working----->pop-up login would not display after a fresh install.....BUT- I could go to admin panel page and login fine and do whatever....I think it was a Softa-whatever install on a previous version and different host.

I'm kind freaky weird about the whole "If anything is flawed after a fresh install----> Don't screw around and waste time trying to figure out where the issue is, (could be corruption) who knows what other issue are hiding in there after that??? Who knows who put together that Softa-whatever One-Button image install? Did they test it? Could it be corrupt? Is it up to date with the current version? (It's like a box of chocolates Forrest X~) .......NO, instead- just do a fresh install, clean, all yourself, and monitor closely." <--------Luckily, my fresh install did the trick and THAT issue disappeared......(So when you see a host offering this nice, sweet, One-Button Dolphin install- That's not necessarily a perk folks should give any attention to. To be honest- It says a lot more if your host says- "We don't do things like that around here (One Button Install)".

@GG- I gotta agree-----> My other instinct would have been to move to another available software solution had this been my first D-experience back then. Dolphin seemed to have the social world in its hands back then....it seemed to stand alone...Lucky me- Everything was pretty sweet and stable with 7.0.7 and I didn't experience all the aggravation others before me talked so much about. Maybe I had a better attitude on a new adventure? IDK

NOW? Seems things are different- Other appealing CMS options and I hear about devs jumping ship....Honestly, at this point- I'm afraid to go back to 7.0.9 even though it was incredibly stable....And I'm afraid to go forward with anymore silly upgrades offering so little- yet so much time lost in tweaking crap and waiting for mod updates that sometimes never come. So- this means wait for D-8 (which used to be an exciting thought for me and now a dead subject) or....WELL....basically- I'm sick of upgrades and expect D-8 to be little more than an opportunity for webmasters and buyers to spend more time and money and lose major investments on their current modules. It happened from 7.0-7.1 ....You know damn sure it's coming with the supposed HUGE jump from 7 to 8....Sorry, this is how I feel and see things now....and feel I need to make the best of what I got...Quite frankly- it feels like settling rather than positive thinking....Oh Well...need to learn more code too.

I'm just ONE person, and ONE opinion probably isn't enough to help UNO? IDK

Thankfully- Hope for improvement can be sustaining and still remains ;)

 My two cents:

When clients have done the auto install, they are also on shared host.

When you do a manual install via cPanel or FTP, file permissions have to be done or checked.

The site will work, but give you MANY problems.

Login link for users is not working, I can login to Administration page ok so able install / uninstall pluggins.

Then i am betting you are having javascript problems.

Go into dolphin admin to the cache section and in the settings for the cache, make sure JS cache is turned off. Then try again.
