New to Dolphin!

Hello everyone.  I am new to Dolphin,  I am currently using the free version on Hostupon.  I am interested in a manual for dolphin so that I can figure out how it all works before I drop a bunch of money on it.  I have it installed sucessfully, however, there are several areas that are not working because they say they are not installed.

I also cannot quite seem to figure out how to edit any of the menus and layout of the system.

I am not new to social networking,  I currently use another very popular social networking software (abledating) on my site cutesingles.org.

But there are certain things that I would like to offer my members, that are not available with able. Like good games, captcha, and such.  Any modification that they offer, are custom and very expensive.

Before I dump able, I need to know at least the basics of Dolphin so that I can get the system online.

I would also like to know if there is a way to transfer my database of users to Dolphin from abledating.

I have a ton of questions, but I won't ask them now.  But any help I would appreciate!

Your site looks good to me, why change it? Is it not working properly? I was just curious. I would maybe get rid of that dating ad from your competition.

Thank you!  It is working properly.  I like the software.  There are several things however i would like to do with my dating site that my current software does not offer.  I see dolphin offers many of them, of course at a cost, but they are available.

I am not sure which ad you are refering to however?  Please explain?

I did briefly look at boonexnerd.net.  it does have some helpful information.  I also see they offer a book.  Is this book worth buying?  Or should I just use the blogs that they have?

I would like to customize my site. I like the general options of dolphin, but the main page for example, has way to much stuff on it.  I would like to have the landing page a bit more simple and less excess things on it.  Of course, being able to add my graphics to it is also needed.

I also would like to see all of the non working areas of dolphin working.  Do I have to buy all the modules/extensions plus the dolphin software to make it work?  My dolphin was a one click setup by my provider (hostupon) but as I said, a few of the areas do not work.  Is this an issue with my providers setup?  or is this the way dolphin is out of the box?

When I was on your home page, I saw an add for match.com.

There's far to much detail to get into on the forums, all I can suggest is make a test site and play around with the software. It will take time. I spend about 4 hours a day playing with the software. You can also google stuff, just use the keyword "dolphin" Say you want to know how to change the template, try to google something like "Modifying template in dolphin". And so on. The software is easy once you get the swing of it.

Oh yes that is the google adsense ads there.  I will most likely do some changes to those ads at some point soon :)

Yes I have been spending several hours a day working on the menus and such.  Getting the swing of that part at least.  I do need to do an upgrade to it to bring it to the current version which I have no clue how to do.  I am only a couple of versions back but still would like to be current.  I am used to seeing an installer that I would upload to the site, run and copy my menus back over.  This seems much more complex from what i read in the install.txt

Hello everyone!  I am in need of someone to help me install a few mods.  I had someone, but he was unable to finsh things for me.  Guess he got busy.  But anyways, if anyone or several people could help me I would apreciate it.  There are a few mods that I would like to install, but being new, I am not sure exactly how to do them.  And the info that comes with the mods is written in a way for people that already know dolphin.
