New to site

Hello everybody, I am new to this site and I have new dating website that needs some touch up. I am using dolphin 7.0, bought license and I need help on this one.

1) I have tried to changed the Admin password and didn't work

2) I have tried to set my PayPal in Admin, not doing anything

3) Sign up is free, but, only limited, full membership fee is requested on 3 ways, Monthly, every 3 months and every 6 months. (When new non-paid membership sign up, they are only allowed to browse other members in member search box, they can receive emails, but can't sent until membership fee is paid.)

4) after you login to this site, on the top right side of the screen, you can see small icon or buttons, when you mouse it over, I have noticed small tiny window opens but no texts.

5) Question: Ads will be used/post by the paid membership, $2 for 30 days, $5 for 3 months, $7.50 for 6 months. All posted ads need to approval by admin as myself. Will this going to work?

If any expert can help me, if possible,  can you PM me for your Yahoo IM, AIM, MSN so you can talk to me over IM?

Thanks!

Hi, welcome to the Boonex world!

How did you link your database to Dolphin?

Re: Paypal I have same issues. Re: Ads, I will check. I am not sure if you do this on Dolphin, but I might be wrong.

Have fun!

I'd prefer to talk on here. This way allows other members to see how they could fix the problem when they search the forums. Wink

Regarding Paypal. I think there is a bug with this. I can not get it working either. I am going to do a search now and let you know if I find anything.

What version are you using?

I think it's your browser issue. I am able to change mine with no issues. I use FireFox. Safari and IE give me problems. IE is much antiquated now for CMS applications.  Mos CMS softwares now enables you to do back end editing etc... Changing to FireFox cures all the problems. I bet you are on RC3 build.

Ok, it is probably RC3 if you downloaded today. Have you changed the password in SQL?

There could be several queries like your hosting package/server.

Paypal module requires you fetching token from paypal.com. It's important esp if you are using SSL connection. have you don't that with paypal? Imean generating a token from paypal?

I'm on PC and FireFox. Nothing special and I can change the password. Something wrong with your computer's cache I think.

@bobby,

you have to know the version you are working with, otherwise its extremely difficult to get any logical assistance here.

so we need to know what version you are dealing with first.

after you have determined the release you are working with, you will need to explain first of all what steps you have taken in creating your membership levels, are they setup?

is your site taken out of free mode?

is your site running promotional mode?

Membership Levels

please review --> admininstration --> settings --> Membership Levels --> Settings

do you have membership levels created?

have you modified what each member level can access based on the membership parameters?

do you have pricing setup on your membership levels if they are created?

Payment Gateway

please review --> administration --> modules --> payment module

is the paypal gateway option for active ticked?

what is the mode you are running in? test | live

what is the process type? IPN | Direct | PDT

what is your connection type set to? HTML | SSL

what is in your identity token text box?

what do you have in the sandbox and have you setup a sandbox account with paypal?

unfortunately, i took a look at my 7RC3, and you are right it only mentions 7.0 so unless somebody has a means of identifying a measure on here to determine the actual release, cant help ya much there.

It the Dolphin 7 won't work on payment module members and it won't take PayPal.

I already closed it all down and I gotten 2 money back from hosting and I will get my money back for the license I bought and I also already made complaint report to this site.

I am still waiting for my money back for the license I bought.....

I have found a nice way round this.

I have created a new block in my home which links to my PayPal 'shop' for membership etc. In the block you can add URL but the thing is it opens up www.mydomain.comwww.paypal.com3ffjdjdjdjdjd (my shop ID for example).

How do I tell the system to look outside my site and just direct to www.paypal.com????????????????????????????????

Quote · 16 Dec 2009

Bobby,

you have lodged a complaint against the site for what? I tested the paypal module in test mode, and it appears to have worked there. that was the reason for my list of questions to be able to understand the steps you have taken and what exactly was tried.

to be a member for 0 days, and just starting with the Dolphin 7 RC3, which the RC stands for Release Candidate, i dont see where you would actually have a complaint.

There are tons of new members that jump on dolphin each and every day, and this is just words from the wise, you nor anybody else is going to learn dolphin in one day, that is essentially the reason we help in this forum and on these blogs.

there are quite a few knowledgeable unity members who provide assistance, and they provide that assistance based on thorough information that is directly related to the problem that is being faced. as an example, and i realize you are new, the topic thread absolutely has nothing to do with your issue, and a better descriptive would have provided a few others coming in here and offering their help. 'new to site' is about as vague and useless as you can get for a forum topic thread.

so you have requested your money back for hosting, and that has been refunded to you, that is great, you have requested your money back for your license, and i dont know if that is actually going to happen, because i seem to recall that somewhere its documented that licenses are not a refundable product. i do wish you all the best on that.

but the fact that you state you complained against the site, is what troubles me, what did you complain about, that you jumped into a river and had no floatees and you could not swim a lick?

well hopefully you can continue to develop your knowledge and eventually end up back here on unity where by far Dolphin is the greatest social networking platform available on the internet.

Good Luck,

DosDawg
