Newbie Needs Help

Man, 7.0 is way better than the last time I looked at this platform.

I have been coding html since the 80's and can screw up php well enough. Also pretty good with VB.

I had been using SE for a business site and really like the look of 7.0. Dowloaded and working.

My question is fairly simple:

How do I edit the various HTML components on any given page (want to change the wording on the Subscribe Box, the download iPhone app box, the Main Greeting).

With the number of files in the app it is hard to determine exactly where to start.

I like the overall look of the app and do not plan on changing themes. Just need to be able to tweak the rendered (I assume) html on most of the pages.

Any advice is appreciated.

pjd - that is done mostly by "language keys" - when you don't like the way the text is you change it in a big database of words and phrases.

Cal,

Yes I know what that is. SE worked the same way using Smarty.

How do you get to the langage keys, or the big database. I cannot find anything in the documentation.

It is in the admin control panel settings/advanced settings/languages.

Cal,

Found it. Thanks.

I viewed your website and your google map integration looks good.

I too am using the basic same fields for location (city, state, zip, and country with zip tied to the geolocate). The problem I am having is that the icon just shows up in the middle of the map (say of the US). How did you manage to get you locations so precise.

I am asuming it has to do with the zoom level of the map?
