Not everything showing on the spy feature

Hi not much activity is showing on my spy mod on the homepage even tho picture comments are being posted and other stuff , any reason many thanks

Check the settings in the backend/admin.  You can select and deselect which things you want to show up in the spy

Yes, you are correct, I was thinking of the outline.  Spy items are added through the alerts; each module had code to add items to the spy notifications.

You are right about some things not showing sometimes ... I have noticed members upload photos and it's shown in spy block  >> other members upload photos and it's not show in spy!

Maybe this issue has something to do with albums I don't know .. I don't think it's users privacy settings..

I also noticed this happen with some other different things.

Thats because the Spy module does not have alert handlers for Photos or videos or blogs, or many other things. If you look at the install.sql for the Spy module you will see it only has handlers for the following alert types:

the spy needs improving

It needs to be expanded or even replaced by a better spy module.  For one thing, members want to know when a comment has been replied to; among other things.  Modzz said something about a new spy module to go in hand with his email notifications but I have no idea if he is working on it or not.

Spy should record all events that happen..

This is false for 7.1.x. Each module registers itself in the spy and wall module upon its installation or installation of spy or wall module itself. So, you would not find it in sql file. Spy does have alert handlers for "add, rate and comment" for all media modules. If its not working, problem might be somewhere else.

Hi so there must be a bug then , i had another problem that could of caused this , i had a bug were half my members did not receive email alerts , they still dont , can anyone that has any spare time take a quick look to see if ive done something wrong , i added a free mod also texas Holden poker .

I know this post has been up for awhile so not trying to "bum" it back up, but, I installed the Spy module, and can't seem to figure out where it is or what to do with it, is there some documentation or screenshots somewhere, is it some kind of tiny icon someplace? Is it dependant on some other module?
