Notepad++ FTP or FileZilla?

Hello... I'm wondering what's the preferred method to edit Dolphin files... I hear that Notepad++ is popular as (among other things) it has a built-in FTP feature. That's great except that it's not working for me. FileZilla connects to the server like a charm, but the editing process seems a bit clumsier. Is Notepad++ FTP reliable? Also, does Notepad++ FTP have any log file somewhere...? As of now it just "does not connect" (it tries to connect, then disconnects after a few seconds...) I get no messages of any sort so I have no idea what's wrong.. (I'm using the exact same settings that I use for FileZilla) Any ideas or suggestions greatly appreciated!

Are you running the latest version of Nodepad ++ (It's at 6.8.3)?

In the NppFTP window, click on the 'Show Messages' icon next to the gear icon, and see what it says in the message window when you try to connect.

I personally only use Notepad++ for editing/coding only. When I am ready to FTP to my site, I will then use FileZilla.I have never tried the built-in FTP for Notepad++ so I really can't say anything about it.

I prefer to keep things separate just in case.. No accidents.

I abandoned FillZilla after it would create zero byte files when uploading; too buggy at the time.  I now use SecureFTP for file transfers.  I also edit in a separate programme and use PSPad; although there isn't a version for Linux, for editing.

I also use a separate program for editing. I use EditPlus, but Notepad++ is good also.

For FTP is also stopped using filezilla quit a while ago due to problems with it such as 0 byte files, and even skipping some from time to time. I now use WinSCP because it can use my SSH server using SFTP instead of a standard FTP server. I don't run a standard FTP server on my dedicated box.

Actually, I use WinSCP as well, not sure why I said SecureFTP; not even sure if that is a proggy or not.  Oh well.
