ONLINE OR NOT

Hi

Was just wondering if anyone else has this problem or better stukk can anyone tell me how to fix it

Right  I know that i have five people logged on - they are all chatting in the shoutbox BUT if I click the link to see who is online - theres only me and half the lightbulbs are correct and half are not.

Im not sure whether there is a setting which i need to adjust or if its more complicated than that - any help would be gratefully received.

I'm kindof having the same problem. On the homepage it says almost everyone is online, while there's only a couple online. Anyone know a fix for this? I would like it to function as it should.

Thanks

There really is no way to really track online activity with 100% accuracy. Dolphin uses a setting in your advanced settings that determines how long to wait before someone is considered offline. Defaults to 5 minutes and really should not be set higher than that. A database time stamp is updated each time a member moves around the site.

But in a chat room a person is on one page. Not moving so the site thinks they are idle. I suppose if someone wanted to they could hide a iframe in the chat page that refreshes the database time stamp every couple of minutes. But there is a drawback to that as well. It adds additional load to the database server. On a low traffic site this would not be a problem, but would be on a high traffic site.
