If I recall correctly, this should be done in php.ini file.

We usually don't answer because we either don't see it, or don't know the answer. This time around, we simply didn't see it. It relies on your upload settings in your php.ini file. Easy, eh?

Here you are pal! just add this in your php.ini in root

upload_max_filesize=300M
post_max_size=300M
max_input_time=3000
max_execution_time=3000

Yea, that's usually the issue when a .ini file is saved as .txt.

Then chances are, your server does not support this kind of configuration. Perhaps you should ask your web hosting company how to go about this?

Go to Admin - Tools - Host Tools. In there, you will find a report that shows you exactly what your php setting are. People ask this all the time. This is a great place to see all your server settings..
