I did an install of Dolphin 7.0 on Arvixe's Basic account and everything went surprisingly well.
I have never hosted on a Linux server before or used cpanel. Everything works even RMS
For any questions I had I just did a search of the Dolphin 7 forums and got many answers. Many Thanks to all
The only minor problem I had was assuming that the cron job would send back an email every time it fired.
It sends an email only if there is an error or if something is processed.
However I do have a question on connecting to an online Payment system, the choice of which seems to be only Paypal.
I signed up for an account and before I got verified I read their contract on "Payor's Authorization for Pre-authorized Debits" (PADS).
Even though I am only selling a service and NOT buying anything I have to agree to PADS (DEBITS) to a max of $200,000 Can.
The complete wording is scary but maybe standard for any online payment service.
Are there any better alternatives where I don't have to sign my life away ? Dolphin 6 has many more alternatives.
I am just looking to charge a nominal sum to keep free loaders looking for a place to store their video's or tunes away.
Any help would be appreciated.
