Orca Forum

I have tried and tried to find the answer here in forums with this issue. I am using the latest D7 and when I click on the orca forums link in admin-modules, it takes me to a blank page. http://www.xxxxxxxxxx.com/forum/    ughh And yes I did place a php.ini file in the forums folder, since that is the only way i could get the url_on error from popping up. Any ideas or can point me to it?

You don't administer the forum from within the admin screen. That 'blank' page is actually your admin page. Look around, you will find a couple links to create new forums and sub forums

My mind seems to have gone blank on this one.  Are you using a custom template?

Yes I bought a template from deanos and installed it. The basic black one. Could this be the problem? Maybe I should ask him?

Yes, maybe you should. The forum and custom templates are sometimes a pain in the neck. PM me your site url so i can see if i can figure out what the issue is.

I bought the same template, and it works great. Sounds like you might be missing some of the template files in modules/boonex/forum/  Double check to make sure you uploaded everything to the right places.

Oh, i should also point out, the most common issue with my template is installing it before orca is fully setup and the language compiled as least once before installing the template.

Okay did more research and found issue. Disable all permalinks and profile works.

Geez if it isn't one thing it's another. Now when I go to my profile I see that dreaded allow_url_include is On between 2 boxes, and I have tried placing a .htaccess file and a php.ini file every wheres but nothing helps. Man how many folders do I need to put these files in?..lol Any ideas?

Hey Lightwolf, Try adding the php.ini file in the modules/boonex directory. Also for your broken links, see if putting this in the root .htaccess file

RewriteBase /

OR

RewriteBase /dolphinfolder/  (dolphinfolder would be the install directory of your D7 site)

right under this code

RewriteEngine On

Make sure to re-enable permalinks and clear /cache (except for .htaccess) and /cache_public directories
