dolphin is pretty much a community driven entity. yes there is support for the prime members, and support comes in trickles for the rest of us. typically we saddle up and lean on each other for the support we need.
i also use mike as my agent, and he has never gone longer than 12 hours without answering. if you wrote him on a friday, then it could have been monday when you received your response. I will queue him up now, and mention your unity name.
if you have skype, get the few minutes you may need 15-30 so you can call andrew and let him know how you are feeling. basically dolphin is a good script. notice i didnt say great, its getting there though. it can be frustrating for new users, but its not akin to geocities or angelfire.
one of the primary key components is server configuration. i prefer CentOS, as it has been extremely good to me. RHEL, cant afford the SLA's, but CentOS is the same thing.
once you have the server configuration down, the rest is understanding the software itself. very few who attempt dolphin are ready or willing, and in most case able, to jump on understanding server configs and management. but dolphin goes beyond that, one machine is simply that one machine. you can only have so much growth on one machine, and then you have to start considering redundancies, and network configurations, load balancing, sql servers, mail servers, file servers, NAS's, backups. yeah it can get pricey and pricey quickly. or you can find yourself down in an instant as well.
