Mate did you do anything before it happened or did it just occur like mine...

It's a problem with the third party template you're using. It may not be compatible with your site's version.

Deano, clean up on aisle 6, forum template error.

Go talk to Deano, he should be able to nudge your site back into the realm of working.  Note this line of your error:

in /home/ptcgalax/public_html/modules/boonex/forum/layout/deanos_basic_black_en/params.php on line 3

I am not a pro or expert here, but that looks like an error with the params.php file.  Note it happens in the .../forum/layout/base/folder and in the ..forum/layout/deanos_basic_black/folder.  Both errors are on params.php.  Sounds like a conflict and your server is playing George in of Mice and Men.  Which way do I go George, Which way do I go?

Work smarter not harder and you just might get her to go down more often.

Thats my template. It appears it may not be correctly installed. Or the forums were not properly compiled with the default template before installing mine.

What version of dolphin are you running?

In any case, my template is attempting to load the base as all templates do, but in your case the compiled version of the base default template appears to be missing.

You need to try switching back to the default template and recompiling it. The problems that currently exist with the default need to be corrected before a third party template will work correctly.

I am having the exact same problem, any help appreciated.

Considering i have no record that you purchased my template, the error you're getting can't possibly be EXACTLY the same.

That was not directed at me was it Deano 'ole boy?  If he does have the "exact same problem" you can always charge him double to fix it.

Quote · 6 Feb 2011

No. I quoted Mark Wilsons post. He did not purchase my template, so his error message cannot be exactly the same.

The use of the word exact is a pet peeve of mine. Because in most cases, it's more like similar, not exact.

Were you the personal originally quoted in his post? No? Then it wasn't directed at you.

Sorry Deano! Exact ... yes, exact same problem, different template - not one of yours.

Well, then you need to do the same thing. Go back to the default template, make sure the forums properly compile and function before reverting back to the custom template.

Unfortunately third-party templates required the default template be properly operating.

No such file or directory errors indicate missing files.

Hey Deano... maybe you can help me with this too?

I just had my site upgraded to 7.0.4 and when I try to go to the Forums, its says

Warning: require_once(/home/snatfu10/public_html/modules/boonex/forum/layout/deanos_basic_black/params.php) [function.require-once]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/snatfu10/public_html/modules/boonex/forum/integrations/base/config.php on line 99

Fatal error: require_once() [function.require]: Failed opening required '/home/snatfu10/public_html/modules/boonex/forum/layout/deanos_basic_black/params.php' (include_path='.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php') in /home/snatfu10/public_html/modules/boonex/forum/integrations/base/config.php on line 99

I have tried uninstalling, reinstalling, recompiling, clearing cache... replacing files... nothing seems to be working. What should I do?

I do not know.

I did not see that problem when i was looking at the site the other day by request from YobiLab who did your upgrade.

I did however notice the forum upgrade did not seem complete because of a lot of missing sub menu items. Specifically the manage forums link was not there as well as several others.

I notified YobiLab about this, so i do not know if they have done any more work or not to try and correct the problems i noticed. But these errors indicate missing files so it is apparent that the upgrade of those forums is still not quite complete.

The problem is when a upgrade fails to take, fixing it has to be done by hand. I would offer to try, but i do not offer upgrades of dolphin as part of my services so if i was to do it i make no attempts to preserve data. To fix the forums most likely will result in loss of data for the forums and any other modules that have to be removed because of dependencies.

This is the reason i do not offer dolphin upgrade services. Upgrades can fail and i do not want that kind of responsibility.

At the moment i do not see your forums installed.

If you have already removed them, the your forum data is most likely already gone. So there would not be any harm in letting me try to fix them.

I did uninstall them because I got extremely aggravated with them.  I dont mind if you take a look. I'll message you

You need to talk to your host.

Warning: shell_exec() has been disabled for security reasons

It means what it says. It's been disabled. Dolphin requires it be enabled and thats a problem with your host. There is nothing i can do to fix it.

I cannot see how this problem is the same as the other posts here. No one here has posted a message with with a shell_exec() warning message in it.

The default UNI template for the forum is missing files.

Download the full zip file that matches your version of dolphin if you do not already have it. http://sourceforge.net/projects/boonex-dolphin/files/Dolphin/7.0/

And re-upload the folder modules/boonex/forum from the archive to your server.

Quote · 25 Aug 2011

Nope. Sounds are not my area of expertise. It's also off topic, so post a new topic for this one. As a starter you are lucky you can even post at all. Before boonex updated this site, starters could not post. So i think it's a bug in their new site design.

It's a $5 one time fee to upgrade to advanced. This is just to try and keep the spammers off the site.
