Page Builder (Reuse Existing Blocks)

How do I use blocks already used before, such as blocks already visible under the other pages under page builder?

In general, you don't.  Just because it's a block, doesn't mean you can pick it up and move it wherever you want to.

Hi,

would love to help you, but I am not an expert on that issue.

I did however stumbled once into a mod that allows you to copy blocks of type RSS, PHP or HTML, although it cannot copy special blocks

It is not free, but Deanos' Mods rock! And it is not that expensive if you think on the amount of time you will save.

Hope it helps.

Some blocks can be copied to other pages.

You can do this manually via phpMyAdmin in the table sys_page_compose

Or you can get my Block Tools mod which can do it for you. http://www.boonex.com/unity/extensions/entry/Block_Tools

Keep in mind that only blocks of function type PHP, Echo(HTML) or RSS blocks can be copied and most likely still work on the page they are being copied to. NOTE i said most likely. There is no guarantee that all of those types will work on any page.

All other block types are written specifically for the page they are on and cannot be copied.

You can get a list of the blocks that normally can be copied by running this query in phpMyAdmin.

SELECT * FROM `sys_page_compose` WHERE `Func`='PHP' OR `Func`='Echo' OR `Func`='RSS'

NOTE: A default dolphin install usually has over 300 blocks. Out of which only 50 to 60 can be successfully copied.
