Page access control

I'm trying to use the Page Access Control in 7.2.

The question I have is: how do you tell people that their membership level is not high enough to see the page?

Basically I want non-members to see something interesting on my website but find out that they need to join my website to see anything more than a small amount of what their interested in.

Hello,

Simply fill out the page access and remove "yourdomainname.com/" & "leave the rest of the page you want to control here'

Then choose who you want to be able to see it. if you want non-members to see that page just make sure it's not checked. Uncheck them all if everyone can use the page, or they will not be allowed.

If it has links that they click on if that page isn't open to them they will get a message that their membership is not high enough.

hope this helps!

As was sort of pointed out, you can edit the message to say something more descriptive; "You are not allowed to view this content because you are not logged in or don't have the proper membership level."  Then you can add a link to the login page or the membership page.

The text is not visible.

The templates that come with the software use white text in a white notification box.

So I guess that a better question would be either:

How do I change the Text Color? or

Is there a template that displays the message better?

from some reason i can't hide block in 7.2

*set specific block view to standard only and nothing changed. everybody can see it

@yzisano

Try clearing the cache  - it under "Tools".

I found the text under "Settings - Languages"

I added a inline style to change the color to blue. Works well

Yes, that can work but it really should be done in the CSS; try to avoid inline styles when possible.  You could have found the CSS by turning off CSS caching and then using an "inspect element" tool, either the one built into many browsers or my favourite, firebug.
