Even though i believe people do not answer questions anymore, i still want to ask this. i tried to set my redirect page to another page using the member.php. i have had problems as i could not save after editing. it shows permission problems. i observed its 0644 and i set it to 664. tell me if i set that wrong... but when i refresh, it takes me back to the old one 644,
can someone tell me how to fix this?

Are you trying to edit this straight from CPanel or an FTP program?
If so, try downloading a copy of it to your local PC, edit it, then re-upload it and see if the error still persists.
Of course, make a backup of it first.
EDIT: Oh wait, I wasnt suppose to answer this hehe
Nothing to see here |
I'm confused.
You can set the page you wish your users to land in after login in settings/advanced settings/variables.
It might just be your English but what it looks like you're saying is you want them to go to member.php then be moved to another page?
If you are trying to change the permissions on a file in your server and it keeps reverting, that means you do not own the file. I would consult with the server techs.

Actually that option is not standard in dolphin. It's there if you installed my redirect on logon mod.

If the permission settings are not holding it could indicate the ownership of the file is wrong as well. This can happen if more than one FTP account each with different id's and passwords was used to administer the site. Not sure if thats the problem.
But Zarcon already asked, and so will i. Are you using cpanel of FTP to change these permissions?
Do you have access to a shell so the owner of the file can be checked? https://www.deanbassett.com |
Wow. I never realized that.
LOL! I have 3 of your mods, the tools, and both the facebook mods. Yer such a sneaky devil. I never knew that wasn't a standard setup.

Well you must have 4 of my mods then. The mod i am refering to is this one. http://www.boonex.com/m/Redirect_to_any_page_after_logon_
It adds the option Page to redirect to after logon:
Seems how you did not remember you added this, you may actually want to see if it is still working. It requires a source code change, and with your recent upgrades to dolphin, that feature should have stopped working due to the source portion of the mod no longer installed.
You can see it's not standard with dolphin here. http://demo.boonex.com/ Logon: admin Pass: dolphin

Holy hell. I keep all my changes in a text file. This is the first one I ever applied.
BTW, near as I can tell, it still works....
04/29/2010 Deano mod to redirect members to member page by default. Idea is to maintain focus on wall mod on account page. See this link - http://www.boonex.com/unity/forums/#topic/Guest-redirect-from-member-php.htm --------------------------------------
But this is different than the one you posted there. This must have been the predecessor.
Sorry, didn't mean to hijack the thread....

Deano that was exactly what led to this. i downloaded that mode and tried to edit the file you asked to be edited. which was member.php
i want it to be redirected to another page like profile.php. what do u mean i am not the file owner. is my page. by the way, i use cpanel not ftp
it keeps going back to the other permission... i really do nto know what to do.. deano, i have run the key to install and that worked but the codes you asked to change that i could not change cos of the permission problem.

If you cannot edit the file, and cannot change the permissions then you will need to contact your host to find out why.
As for ownership of the file. I should not have mentioned it. Not very many people understand what it is and it's difficult to explain. But wrong ownership would explain the reason you cannot set the proper permissions. And it would have to be something your host would have to check on because you appear to not know what it is so you will not be able to check it yourself.

Ok, I think I am the one that mentioned ownership of the file first. Don't steal my thunder even if it is weak, lol http://towtalk.net ... Hosted by Zarconia.net! |
