Periodic Report

Please help if you can. I am getting a Periodic Report every minute that says: "All done today, bailing out." What can I tell my host about cron jobs to correct this, please? Or is there another fix?

Thank you for the help! These emails have taken over my inbox!!!Surprised

Warmly,

Jhazzi

You have been hacked.  Unfortunately that is what happened and you need to go into the cron jobs (there are not that many of them) and pull it out.  Sorry.

mydatery, thank you for answering. I believe you. How is this done? My host "just" reinstalled Dolphin for me. I am not sure how to ask this. They used a backup database/content and structure to restore the files. Could the hack have occurred there? They are a Dolphin approved/recommended host but not Dolphin experts. Should they know how to pull it out? Thanks for the sympathy. I'm beginning to feel I need it. This was the 7th Dolphin reinstallation. Things have been rough. (No, not a pity party just the truth.) LOL

On a side note, do you freelance out?

I am not convinced you have been hacked.

The message "All Done Today" is normal if the cron job has already been run for the day. The cron job periodic/cmd.php is only supposed to be run once per day. If it got set to run every minute than that message would be normal message returned by that job.

Check your cron settings.

I have never gotten that message from any of my sites, interesting bit of knowledge there.

I discovered it by accident when i changed the time the job runs on my server.

Deano, thank you. I have another dolphin installation, same host and the cron job settings are identical yet the notification on the one. I rearranged some of the settings a bit and that appears to have worked. My host said to simply delete the cron job but I was reluctant to do that which I'm unable to explain except if they are there, they must need to be. *shrugs* Minutes have lapsed and no emails. Thank God! This has been going on every minute for more than 3 hours!

Thanks ever so much,

Jhazzi

For no other reason except my issue caused you to learn something, I'm okay with it happening. It has stopped. Thanks for even responding.

Kind regards,

Jhazzi

You could have safely deleted it for a while. Then put it back in later. Deleting it may have been a host suggestion to see if crons scheduling system was malfunctioning.

The cron jobs do serve a purpose, so do need to be there. But the site will run without them.

The cron jobs do maintenance tasks, such as purging expired classified ads, removing temp files, expiring old member accounts, ect.

Deano, I appreciate the easy to understand lesson on cron jobs. You were kind to explain as you did. Enjoy a lovely weekend!
