Please Explain settings Public VS Private

When i make a forum and and it offer me Public/Private what does that mean exactly........i get public is for all BUT Private ? what does that really mean ...do they have to be on my friend list to read my posts or what ???

Is there a way to make forums only visible to Membership Levels ? or to even have more control over who can see forums .

There's two levels of access for the forum.

In membership types, there are two forms of access that can be granted. One is public and one is private..

This gives you 4 choices for forum access for each membership type:

  1. public access only
  2. public and private access
  3. private access only
  4. no access at all

When you create anew forum category, you have the option to set it to public or private.

I understand that now.  I was hoping to create some private forums for sub-groups of members, regardless of the type of paid membership 'level' they had.  I can't do that with Orca.  I was also hoping to assign non-admin forum moderators but I don't see how I can do that either.  I'll figure something out... or do without.

Cool
