I am trying to make a domain name change.
Have the site called something completely different than what it is currently. I changed the name servers on my Registrar, however that just a causes a "Redirect" Error.
I see that there are directions on how to make this change if you are accustomed to dealing with cPanel Files and Servers, I am not.
I am positive if I attempt to do this I am going to screw something up. And i don't want that to happen.
thank you for any help provided! I am always so gracious for this great community!
PS: very happy to see Boonex Stepping up Support. Thats great! |
Once you have the domain pointing to the proper IP address and webroot on the server, you need to make a change in the /inc/header.inc.php file.
Open up the /inc/header.inc.php file in an ASCII editor. find the following line:
$site['url'] = "http://my-domain.tld/";
Change that line to the new domain name. Be sure you keep the trailing slash (/); removing it will cause some strange things.

Thank you i am praying this cup of coffee will give me the strength to find and successfully make this change.

Yep have no idea at all what I am doing.
Cant figure it out and made 0 progress. Lol...I suck
Please help |
You need to provide more information. I had guessed you had the old domain redirecting to the new domain that loaded the site and Dolphin then redirected the site to the old domain and thus you had a loop going.
Clearly state what you have done and what issues you are having. You may not have set up the new domain properly. Without details we are just guessing. Give us the type of hosting you are using, what type of control panel, what you have done perhaps with .htaccess (only if running Apache/Apache like webservers), etc.

Why did you change the Name Servers? Did you also move to another host? Geeks, making the world a better place |

Ok I got the New Domain to work however now it is showing my site as a "TRIAL"?
And it has "Build your own Social Media Site" on the side...
THIS IS NOT OK!!!!!
We have members paying a membership and THAT looks VERY Sketchy...
Also, Members Invite Links are still showing the OLD URL not reflecting the NEW URL...
--> How can I get the site back OFF of TRIAL mode?
--> How can I get the Referral Links to reflect the new URL?
Thank you

You'll have to reset your license here at boonex and then probably re-enter it in admin on the site. About the referrals make sure everything is updated in the database, admin and header.Inc.php to the new domain. However how do i go about re registering the License?
Go to your BoonEx Account > Manage Licenses: http://www.boonex.com/market/licenses
Click on the license's domain, and a new window will open with a Reset button. Click it, then re-add the license to Dolphin.

If you want to reset license go to your account page or got directly to this link http://www.boonex.com/market/licenses and click the domain under your license and reset it..

After i reset it you can see it is unregistered again so add the license to your new domain.
