Please help... no orca/privacy settings

Please help... I am set to launch this site soon and need to resolve these issue... your support would sincerely be appreciated... I've searched the forums and have not had success with finding a solution.

Orca Forums: Not working - link shows site as unavailable.

Privacy Settings: When I change default privacy settings, all other options are disabled except for ads. Not sure why.

Lastly, the member menu (presence etc.) does not show on the bottom. I have reloaded the site three times and this is the first time it doesn't show.

yeah you have some serious troubles there. the forums that is the first time i have seen that come up, so that would definetly be something you should write your host about. while i am on that subject, where is this site hosted at?

how was this site installed, were the files incompressed to the local drive then uploaded to the server? or was the compressed state uploaded and uncompressed on the server.

this all looks relative to xsl or xml i could be wrong on that, but this is certainly not good.

DosDawg,

Thank you for helping... my site is hosted on Arvixe. The site was uncompressed on my local drive and then uploaded to the server. Unfortunately, I am not sure what you mean by xls/xml... I assume that Arvixe supports all this because I didn't get any error messages when installing. Should I reinstall?

The problem is that you have added in header or footer section of your site custom javascript code (like some ads copy/paste code). This code contains CDATA section and it broke existing CDATA section. Please remove CDATA open and close tags to eliminate this problem. Also try to clean cache in /cache/ and /cache_public/ directories after you removed CDATA from your custom javascript code.

Also you can see the exact error if you try to open this url in FF (FF makes XML validation): http://www.gomom.me/forum/?debug=1

Thank you, thank you, thank you. I would have never figured it out. However, now it seems that I cannot use my ad code (which is jquery) in the banner section. It only works in the Basic Settings HTML section.... ugh.

When I take it out completely, everything (forums/privacy settings) work... but when I put it in without the CDATA (forums works, but does not load and privacy settings doesn't work)... :( This is where I start crying, kicking and screaming because I really need a rotating banner up top and now I am at a loss of what to do... oh well, at least the site itself works. Thanks again, you are awesome!

javascript works... not as fancy. However, I get the rotating banners. Thanks again!
