Post Ad as Non-Member

I made changes in membership levels in non-member actions and set to ads can be added as a non-member. But when I want to post ad as a non-member displays a 'Join' and 'Login'. I wish appeared 'Post Ad' when I'm not logged in as a user. How can I do this? Please help.

This was asked before in the forums,  do a search (sometimes using a search engine such as Bing or Google works better) and see if you can find that post(s).

Allowing non-members to post adverts could result in a lot of spam adverts, porn adverts, penis enlargement adverts, etc.  You would at least have to moderate all adverts to prevent your site from becoming trashed by spam adverts.  So the idea on its own is not a good one.

Thanks Expertzkris as I wrote earlier this does not work for me. After I made this changes all the time there are only 2 buttons 'Join' and 'Login'. How can I change it? I would like to click 'Post Ad' without having to register.

Yes I know, I take that into consideration but I will moderated all the time. Of course it would be good function confirmation link on the email after post ad. There are many web portals with free adverts without registration.

So as you can see I have marked 'ads add' but I can not add it as a 'non-member' ... why?

I don't think it was ever intended that non logged in users have the ability to post ads,  If they can't be bothered to fill out a simple join form, why should they have every privilege a real member has?

I don't know why so many of you folks around here want to give some anonymous user, from some unknown place, the privilege of posting content on your sites, when they lack enough ambition to spend 60 seconds filling out a join form.

Iv'e seen this only on free online game that you can battle to someone as guest  "guest001"  but for non members posting "free ads" i haven't seen it online ..

HL do have point :)  maybe its not intended to let non members ads -> ads..

I would like to visitors to my site can post classified ads for free and without registration. There are still large advertising portals known to such as: olx.com, gumtree.com

Besides, not everyone may wish to register specifically to be able to post one ad. I have other functions on my website, which user may not want to have access.

So...if it's possible to 'non-members' able to post ads?

OLX

Yeah OLX has free ads i think to be able to apply it in dolphin it should also have this same feats and have admin moderation before publishing. Hiring someone to do this in Job section like this SMS confirmation or email before it published.

Maybe try to message the Dolphin Staff or Mr. Boon. To make it available in DU or D pro.

Thanks, I will try message to the Dolphin Staff. I'm only surprised that it is possible to set this to 'non-members', and even then it doesn't work. I care about free ads on my website. If anyone else has any idea how this can be done, please let me know on this topic.

After the non-member post the Ad, you will not want them to be able to manage it in any way, correct ?

If there were such a possibility, non-member should get a link to the manage...but if this is not possible, let them have only option post ad without manage.

it is not possible..Database link every thing together ..if there is no member no ID is generated. No ID mean no linking to other stuff. email password pictures etc. for example in ur mind user would post without joining what if that user want to edit it after posting? it would only work as auto guest generation method i think. Like the way shout box works.

Why don't you move everything off your join form except the nickname, password and date of birth? That way someone could just fill out 3 blanks and post ads or do anything else on your site? You can still leave all the other fields on the "edit profile" page for people who want to go back and fill everything else out.

I suppose your could create a Guest membership  level, and set all the available actions appropriately. The guest membership could not have editing or delete privileges on anything.  Then you create a user called "Guest" and publicly provide the password.  Maybe you could even create a special guest login block where the guest login credentials are automatically entered. The Guest account would be the only one assigned to the Guest membership level, and would technically be a member of the site.  The guest email would be an email account you set up to monitor guest notification activity.

1 line solution would be ..just keep the email field,  remove the rest from join form. email the password and ads details in email. or just add the email option in ad post page instead of joining form and send the rest detail in email. check this website "gumtree" its an ad posting website.

I withdraw my suggestion of a guest membership level/Guest account. It won't work because if you  post an ad as a member, you can also delete the ad.  Since there is no separate "delete own ads" membership action, a single guest account could delete any ads created under that account.

Therefore, I don't want to create a new user ID just to post ad, this should be the ID of the ad as it works on gumtree. When you post a free ad (without logging the user) you get an e-mail with the ability to delete this ad/edit/extend the duration of the ad.

I want it to be a combination of social networking with post-announcement portal. Your the idea seems to be a pretty good solution but it still does not solve this problem. Maybe a good option would be to create a profile to add only ads and social profile in isolation from ads, but unfortunately I don't know how to do it.

Thanks for the idea but still I would like the most simplified form of adding ads (preferably without any user registration only with Ad-ID). I also tried the method of formation Membership - Guest with the possibility of adding ads, but I think it would be too complicated for the users and not work too well, unfortunately. As you written, there is no separate "delete own ads" membership action.

well is there a way to post the ad being a member, but hide the member who added it?

I have a similar challenge with some unique twists Cool

Is there a way to have the ad section anonymous. So members can post and then communicate without revealing their member details. So neither party can see or know the members info/profile etc.

Member1 shows as only the Seller

Member2 shows only as the Buyer

Or something similar.

If anyone has made an extension that handles this let me know or if theres a way to do it I'd be interested to hear about it too. Much thanks.
