Profile Fields and Predefined Values

I'm new to using Dolphin. I'm trying to configure it. I'm not building a dating site, more of a networking site. I want members to be able to search for each other in ways other than the predetermined values. First of all when I try to create a new predetermined value I can't save it. How to do so? Or is there a better way of doing this?

Second, under Profile fields builder when I click on "looking for" I've changed the "possible values" from the default "Sex" to values that I ascribed to another field that I have matched to the "looking for" field, yet if I go through the registration process it still comes up with the default settings under "looking for" How to change the "possible values"? Or again is there a better way for members to search for each other based on profile info?

Hi. I'm not sure how to do this internally, but there are two modules in the market which may help (especially the first one which has had extensive good reviews):

  1. https://www.boonex.com/m/Profile_Types_Splitter_Premium
  2. https://www.boonex.com/m/advanced-search-form

I realise the pricing of the first is very high, but it may be the answer to your problem.

Also, there may be others that know how to do this without buying the mods.

It is hard to know what is happening without going into your site as an admin.  What you want to do that you state you can not do should be very easy to do with the predefined list builder and the profile fields builder.

I've been doing it as admin in the back end.

The answer was yes, you can do it.  However, the answer to why it is not working is we don't know, we don't have access to your site as admins.
