when you registered your ray widgets --> music player and video player, then you setup your base settings on ray, did it tell you it could not connect to RMS? that is what it appears to be to me, is that you are not making a connection to RMS.

webz,

yes, there are 12 sets of licenses on a default install if you are going to use every ray widget and dolphin/orca

if you purchased a dolphin license, this will not get rid of the ads on the ray widgets. you can download the free version of ray, and overwrite the installation  you have now, and use the free licenses, or you can purchase the licenses for the widgets you wish to use.

hope this helps,

everything else in admin is working? is the rest of the site working? this is indicative of something going wrong with your htaccess. has this been the case the entire time, or were you tweaking something and caused this. i would say since you were able to upload files previously and  you reported that your vid player was not working, man i dont know, this gets confusing sometimes trying to read and understand this stuff.

is this the first time you have tried to access the plugins directory? or have you been sucessful at accessing this directory and its something that has happened post install?

This can be happen by the .htaccess file there. Try renaming it to some other name.

I have the same problem with IE7. I cannot load music or video however I know it works as my firefox loads it. Also IE6 loads it but not IE7. It is not my PC as other PCs with IE7 cannot loads the videos and music.

I noticed that some dolphin sites' videos and music play on IE7 though...

Am I doing somthing wrong? this has puzzled me and I have tried my hardest to search for an answer on this site.

Thanking you all very much in advance

Okay...

Installing Ray is a few steps. If your using an RMS and don't have RayPro enable in your Advanced Settings you'll get errors.

If your not getting errors in general and when you try to upload and get an error it is usually because the PHP.INI file is set "Uploads" to low. OR you do not have the MEMBERSHIP Features set correctly. <--- This got me twice so make sure your members have access to these features...Even guest need to "view"

If you are not using RMS then all you need to do is register RAY Widegets, Set the acceptable rights in the Admin Settings of each Ray Widget. Be sure your PHP.INI file allows for more then 2Mb or 8Mb upload sizes as most Mp3 and Videos are a min of 10Mb. DON'T FORGET the "AUTO APPROVAL settings" or your have to approve before anyone can view it!

DO NOT enable RayPro and DO NOT connect to the BOONEX RMS. If you are not planning on providing STREAMING features! You do NOT need RMS to load photos, music and videos into the community. RMS is only used for Streaming Audio and Visual. Video Recorder, A/V Chat and IM etc.

If you connect to the BOONEX RMS remember it is located NOT in America so it could affect America's peak times of NET traffic when it goes into to CRON mode during off-peak times in Australlia. Also it is a sharred RMS and I could just image the load on it is always rather large. Best advice if you want to run RMS load it on your own box.

Hope this clarifies or at least identifies some of the steps and purposes behind Ray Widgets... Good Job Rayzzz:)

the ghost, maybe i need to chat to you alone and not on the forums...

I have done all that mate... the wierd thing for me is everything works perfectly on firefox but my target audience most probable do not even know firefox exists... hahahahaha

IE6

On IE6 to my amazement it works perfectly too!

IE7

It just does not work on it.. as I keep getting "loading error"... RMS is not turned on, all memeberships have the right to look and and upload videos...

As our other post said, I am approaching this with patience however I am interested in knowing if anyone has had this problem or has a solution.

Thanks...

i would post on your site that IE is not the best browser to view this site with. and for an optimal experience on your site, it is recommended that they install FIREFOX.

i cant tell you the last time i used IE, dont even think i have IE7. hope this helps.

All would be dandy if it worked in Chrome but it does not for me. Firefox only. Now something is definitely wrong... Strangely enough the demo chat over at boonex.com works in all browsers, so this has to be something Dolphin specific?
