Profile fields and Profile Blocks????

I am confused,

Profile fields allows you to drag and drop fields on the profile, for editing, viewing by admin, members and visitors..

Profile blocks allows you to change the appearance of the profile and profile info, but does not show the same thing as 'profile view' under profile fields.

How do you get profile fields "profile view" to be the same of Profile Blocks "Profile'???

As I am playing with it - unless you are the member of the profile, I do not see any way to add the newly created profile fields to display on every profile you view, whether it be members, visitor or admin..

After looking at it closer - Profile fields are just for the user to edit..  The terminalogy of the menu items there are a bit misleading..

But the question remains, how do you get those fields to show on the main profile, the one that everyone sees????

Okay - the profile fields first of all should show the Dolphin Fieldcaption field how it is truely saved: i.e. _FieldCaption_Profile Type_etc

Second - the profile block shows Caption Lang Key and the profile field block shows Caption and it should state the same thing as the profile block should it not?

The profile Field block should also show the complete language string as it is saved, not having to let one think on how it is done: _FieldCaption_Profilefield name_etc  (is the way it is saved), but not shown

Lastly, I did enter the correct language key in the profile blocks this time and sure enough, it showed the correct name of the language field in the profile block edit - problem is now - how do you show the content of that field in the profile block?? I would figure it would show the content of the users field??

I think there is something seriously wrong with profile field edits and profile block edits - they basically look like the same thing - but one lets you add fields visible to certain levels, but yet, you cannot even add them easily via the page blocks to be seen??..

I guess this is just a bunch of nonsense.

I just need to know how to get the profile fields I am adding to show up as the page blocks when viewing the profiles - with the values.

I would figure they would show as inactive page blocks at the bottom, but they do now..

Any help would be appreciated.

I am guessing no one else knows either??

im gonna go look at this, but you should have tabs in the admin panel to which you specify the profile view content?

i know that is how it has been from v.5.x, but like i said i will go take a gander, will report back when i find something.

There are, but the problem is that the profile fields to show to 'whom' is still dependent on how you have the profile blocks laid out.

I woudl figure that all profile fields you have, whether manaully made or system, should show in the profile blocks to be able to add.  Bascially, profile blocks overide profile field permission as it would seem, and as of yet have I figure out a way to view the content of a manually made profile field in a profile block..

Confused with this yet?

How do you add aditional profile fields and get them to show up?
