Profiler Module

This might be a stupid question but I have to ask. What is the Profiler Module and Profiler Map? I haven't installed it and before I do I want to know there purpose

Profiler is a diagnostic tool of sorts, through I don't have much knowledge or experience with it. Profiles Map is a Google Maps display of all your members and where they live. You can view an example of it on the home page of boonex.us.
