Promotional Membership, only 1 i.p. address allowed

Hi just curious is there a mod or something I can do to make it so that you can only log into your promotional account on 1 computer.   In case people start to share their accounts and passwords to view premium videos and content.

I do not know if any. And even if their was, i would not use it.

IP addresses for most people are dynamically assigned. In other words not permanent. Some ISP's set a low TTL on these so they change frequently, some do not.

So what happens when someone signs up and the next day their ISP rotates their ip or they have a power failure or something else that reboots their router which also changes the ip. Suddenly that person can not log back in.

In my opinion, ip addresses should not be relied upon for access control.

I would suggest setting a cookie on that one computer set to expire when the promotional membership does. Then use the cookie to verify it's the same person. Also not very reliable as some people do delete their cookies on a regular basis.
