Question about the store

On the front page it indicates that there is 1 store.  This would seem to indicate that at some point there will be more than 1 store.  Does this mean that users will be able to create stores? If so, how will the payment processing work?  If this does not mean that there will be more than 1 store would it not be better to give a product count?

It would be nice to allow users to get payments on paypal at least.. (if it's not already like this)

That's a feature I would like also Masterminds.  Some kind of button on the member's profile that says "send payment".  Probably wouldn't be that hard to develop.  I even called Paypal a while back and asked if this was ok, and they said it was fine.  It is similar to a bank - anyone can make a deposit in anyone's account, it is the withdrawals they get a little touchy about.   I had in mind a new profile field "paypal email" that would be used for this, since they may use a different email for registering.  It would be a cool mod if anyone cares to take it on.  I'm pretty sure there is even code for it on the Paypal site.

Vagabondette - I know members can add their own product to the store, though I haven't spent any time with this feature yet.  See the membership levels where you enable this permission.  I'm not sure if this means they can have their own store yet though.  Anyone?

Caltrade, it might be better to just add a HTML box on the profiles where users can drop in code for a paypal or google check out or whatever kind of payment widget.  I'm not happy with paypal at the moment because they've frozen my account and I want to buy something from someone who only accepts paypal.  This is why it's so important to have more than one payment alternative.

Hopefully someone will chime in about how the user store/products thing will work.

I'm really interested in seeing how this will work.  They'll have to have payment functions for each member that has a store and will each store have a separate shopping cart?  So if people want to buy different items from different people they'll have to go through the check out process x times right?  I could see this getting very messy.  IMO it would also be good to have adding an item to the store be something people can pay to do or, you get a % of the purchase price.

I understand "items" in the Store are for sale, but what if I have uploaded lots of tunes (previews) I would like to sell in the normal Sounds place? I mean could my normal Sounds be for sale as well for downloading the full tunes?
