RMS - Which is best? Does it matter?

Our site was just moved to a dedicated server, our hosting company has RMS service, does it matter if they use thiers or should they use the one available for download for D7?  Is one better than the other?  or are all RMS servers the same?  Just want to make sure that the site works up to it's full potential, thanks for all the help Boonex Nation.

It depends what version of RMS they are using. They are not all the same. For D7, the D7 version of RMS should be used.

well one other thing is that if you are on a Dedicated Server, then your hosting company as part of your Dedicated suite should install RMS for you, and if you are running D7 as deano states, you would need the RMS 7 that has been released by Boonex.

not saying you couldnt use some other hacked up version of Red5, which essentially is what RMS is, but the applications are written into that version utilizing the Red5 streaming solution.

Happy New Year

I also have a dedicated server and I installed RMS on my server by myself. I never installed RMS before so I was a bit skeptical about how hard it could be but installing RMS was just a piece of cake. You can easily download the zip file and install it on your dedicated server in 30mins - 1 hour at the most.

Cheers

you are correct mick, its not difficult for somebody who would have that notion, but given the leading conversation, it didnt appear to me that this member was very savvy on the CLI side of a server.

could be wrong.
