RMS installation Dolphin 7

I've paid two people now to install this media server RMS.  Both have not been able to do it correctly.  I really need help on this guys.  I don't have a ton of money so I can't pay much if any at all.  I do have a pretty popular site and can offer a banner ad.

If you can help me install this on my server, and know what you are doing please let me know.

Thank you.

1.  Is your server a VPS or Dedicated?  You can not install this on a Shared Server.

2.  Do you have Root Login credentials on your server?  You must install it logged in as the root user or it will not go right.

Let us know and we'll keep helpin' you out.  Dosdawg, Anton, Zarcon and probably Magnasofty I believe are the best ones to walk you all the way through this.  HL loves to help, but he always gets his hair all over the server and leaves beer bottles layin' everywhere.

It is a VPS.  I do have root login credentials.

Try following this installation document: http://www.boonex.com/trac/dolphin/wiki/RayMediaServerInstallation

Note, that you must have Java installed on your server, otherwise the Media Server will not run. You can try asking your host to do this for you, but that may not be possible since you're on a VPS.

they would do it but they said there are already two versions of this on there from those two guys I hired before.  They messed it up.  It was working for a bit.  I can pay a little bit.

I have a better idea, that will save you future hassle. Instead of having random people do the installation and configuration, select an Agent here at Unity (which can be done from your account page) and request a quote for the installation and configuration of the Media Server. I recall the normal fee the Agents are requesting is around twenty dollars.

Unfortunately, I no longer do much on-site work, due to past experiences with some less than desirable people. Unless either someone else here, or yourself are willing to get everything running, you're best bet would be an Agent.
