Raspberry Pi 2 webserver cluster. Good idea?

Planning to build a Raspberry Pi 2 server cluster (1 load balancer + 9 web servers) obviously need proper SQL server & NAS. Os would be ubuntu server & server would be nginx. This combination is very less Money, Power, Space & RAM consuming. 50 volts for  10 servers in price of 300£. What you say?

I'd say you  could save a ton of money by buying > One of These

For this money you can build about 180 servers on Atmega328 +W5100! Only 3 volts! :) And connect One of These to take control on all of them! Or simply buy a bunch of One of These and build a cluster from them!

If it doesn't work out you can always use them to start building an army of tiny robots.

50 volts for  10 servers

That is virtual impossible seeing that they use 220V over seas and 110V  in the US per device...  just saying..

My computer at home has a 1200 watt power supply at 110V  so it's just short of using 12 amps and runs about $50 US a month...

  I read about these today,

From the article.

Also, the board can still be run from a 5V micro-USB power adapter.

5 volts @ 10 would be 50 volts.

I could see this in certain instances, those guys are closed minded anyway.

Third world countries and so on.

Even better if is serves a few and needs little power.

5 volts @ 10 would be 50 volts.

 5 volts @ ~500mA in parallel connection x10 still would be 5 volts but @ ~5000mA.

What 50 volts are we talking about guys?

It is nice to play around with these things.  I would like one to play with for many different projects but money is tight in this heating season.  Now of course a Pi is not going to make a very powerful server but it is fun to play with them.

Geeks, making the world a better place

I was supposed to look out for Watts instead of volt :p And the price of 300£ o8r 350$ was for buying these 10 servers. Idea was to serve static content of dolphin while other queries would be handled by SQL & NAS but problem starts with processing, specially any video file. So for that need to setup a separate powerful server for processing like the option we got in Trident now to offload the burden from tinny servers. RPi2 job only would be to shift user to dynamic content without ever going down :)
