Hi all,
Ok, after searching all around, I think I know how Ray Suite works, but I want to be sure:
So, with the free version of Dolphin you get the Ray Suite with Advertisements, and it connects to the Ray Media Server at boonex.com, yes?
When you buy an ad-free license for Dolphin, that is what you have to do to register Ray Suite, yes? So it not only makes the Ray widgits ad-free, but looking at the admin menu, it appears to open up menus like "settings," "templates," "languages," and "updates," so you can further customize each widgit and add multiple language support?
Though it doesn't say so, the richer A/V options like audio/video chat and the whiteboards (Boards) aren't enabled in the free version with the Boonex.com RMS, despite the site menu having the "Boards" option and an apparently otherwise useable board. You can "test drive" the board but if you press the submit button it won't actually save it, so other users can't collaborate in the free version, yes?
Not complaining - limiting A/V through the free RMS makes sense - it's just very confusing having some of these options on the site and not realizing you have to register before some of them work while others work in the free version.
Oh, also when I was experimenting with trying to get the alter the Shoutbox, I pressed the "Install" button on the Admin/Plugin/Ray panel. (Fortunately tried this on our test site and not our live one). This was confusing as well since "isn't Shoutbox already installed? It's on my front page and it works." I now see "Installing" installs the ad-free version and breaks the free version in the process, as it is now waiting for the license code. So anyone using free Dolphin who doesn't wish to upgrade to ad-free just yet, don't press those "Install" buttons.
Can't wait to hear the answers and please correct any of my assumptions if they're wrong, but I think this could be useful to new users.
