Ray alternative for Dolphin

I would like to know if there is an alternative to ray for dophin and if so what that may be. thank you.

I would like some way to make the "on-line" status available through the member's existing IM system - rather than Ray "presence" which I don't think is very good.  This group lets you make status indicators: http://www.onlinestatus.org/

Though not too many people are hosting anymore.  The bulletin boards - especially phpBB seem to do a pretty good job of this.  I think they use Jabber servers but I don't know much about how they work.  Maybe some of the server guys here could take a look and maybe come up with some solutions.

here are some of the items i'm looking for:

- video upload and play back

- audio upload and play back

- instant messenger (not necessarily with live video/audio but it would be nice to have it) as video is the in thing on sites today.

- live cam to cam

these are the important parts of websites today; especially videos. every one is into videos. ray is just too pain in the !@#$%^ to configure and make it work especially with shared hosting.

any luck with an alternative cause me too my webhosting says they dont support jre which for some reason i just dont get why not but for the alternative any luck fellas?
