I guess it’s always better to start with a shared cheap host especially because I have not seen many Boonex sites do well. Many of them disappear after spending a lot of money. So what host company do you suggest, given your experience with them. I am currently with Webhostingpad. They are cheap, but have a lot of issues. I am thinking of switching to Blue host but have heard a lot of drama with them. In fact, it looks like they all have issues. Do you seriously know of any relatively good one, shared, cheap, with less drama?

I usually recommend Terabyte Hosting Solutions (they're built around the script), but they aren't really on the cheap side these days. But to be fair, cheap and Dolphin don't really go together. BoonEx Certified Host: Zarconia.net - Fully Supported Shared and Dedicated for Dolphin |
You also need to be concerned with drive space usage. If your site will be heavy on uploaded videos or photos, this needs to be addressed.
I use HFW (VPS). I have had issues with them a few times but overall, I seem to be getting by without too much drama.

I have been using Arvix for the last 4+ years on different websites using other CMS, last year i started using D7 on arvixe shared plan for dolphin for less then $100 per year. I like it so far. |
I've used Stormwire for nearly 10 years without ever asking for help with anything till I tried setting up this Dolphin - they jumped through every hoop possible trying to help me get it to run on shared server - then client decided on Dedicated server - Stormwire provided 3 quotes and then delivered our choice within 5 days and spent 2 days answering every request till it all worked ... smallest dedicated package they offered was like $110 - am still learning of Dolphin but can attest to Stormwire being worth a look ... tech support is top notch |
@dealsaround
tmdhosting support has been excellent from day 1 for me.
I am using their VPS services and they answer all my questions and resolve things very quickly
no complaints

As their liaison I officially recommend Arvixe. I talk to the owner pretty frequently and I can promise you they will go to great lengths to fix any problems you might have. BoonEx Certified Host: Zarconia.net - Fully Supported Shared and Dedicated for Dolphin |

I also use TMDhosting and am impressed with their quick support response to any issues I've had with the two Dolphin sites I'm hosting (shared) with them.

I am quite happy with alterhosting.com - both the support and the performance are fine for a low cost shared server. |

Have had poor customer service from both Arvixe and TMD....will be looking elsewhere. Its funny how you can talk to someone on the phone or on chat before you give them money....but as soon as they have the $, the only will communicate "by ticket" and then dont respond, or their response doesnt resolve issues they caused, or their response doesnt even have anything to do with your concerns. And 5+ days and still cant get a manager to respond, despite multiple tickets, phone calls to their sales. Both of those companies are horrible |
Sorry to hear you had problems with Arvixe. If you had posted here or on the Arvixe forum I could have helped you. BoonEx Certified Host: Zarconia.net - Fully Supported Shared and Dedicated for Dolphin |
I agree with Nathan
Terabyte Hosting Solutions as far as i am concerned is the best for dolphin because they use it and work with it every day.
They may not be the cheapest, but as Nathan said. Cheep and dolphin do not go well together. Which i also agree with completely.
