Release date for Dolphin PRO!

ok, so maybe not yet...

I know we've been told it will be after DU is released, so realistically could be quite some time away...

but, is there any indication anyone at Boonex can give to roughly how long? 

Are we talking a few months, half a year, a year...

Im looking forward to both Pro and U, although Ive already invested in enabling many of the features that Pro seems to be focusing on as new so they already run on my 7.1!

Would be nice to know if its worth me holding off on some new projects until Pro is available, or to plough ahead with my 'upgraded' version of 7.1, which could then put me in the position of not being able to upgrade those sites easily to Pro without migrating a load of data across to certain modules that Pro promises to update...

I think you may be slightly confused. Dolphin Pro and D7.1.x are the same thing. Andrew is just changing the name, that is all. As for the next release, I believe he said the next update would be after the Beta of DU.

Correct, the 7.1.x line will end; or actually has ended.  7.1.4 is the last of the 7.1.x line.  Dolphin Pro will begin with a 7.2 release and the licensing will change.  I have yet to see any mention of the exact license for Dolphin Pro which is important; they state that Dolphin Pro will not require attribution but I am sure there will be a license of some form attached to it.  Modules will be licensed separately from Dolphin Pro and will require purchase.  Some modules may be included for free.  If any of this has been formalised, then it would be nice for Boonex to post the licensing terms somewhere on the Boonex site for us to peruse.

GG, does this mean that the entire collection of my mods and current license i have now will no longer be useable under 7.2 version(release)? I mean due to all this information in different topics, forum posts and boonex info releases it's becoming a complete mess of threads and loose ends.

It would be better if someone created one DU forum topic where we all command and the same for the upcoming D pro 7.2.

 NO, it doesnt meant that.  Your license and modules will still be good for 7.2, which is why they have offered a discount on the main page to get more people to buy licenses now.

GG, I was under the impression that they would release 7.1.5 before they release 7.2.

On the other hand, I also would like to know an approx rough estimate on about how long before we can have the next update.  I believe Andrew is still making a huge mistake by concentrating 100% on DU, which is adding even more MONTHS to the already existing long overdue of 14 fucking months of no updates which is insane.  I do give him credit for claiming that there will be open discussions about whats going on, but in reality, no matter how good that sounds, we need updates asap to the main product.

And I think that the prio should be on D PRO (7.2) instead of DU.
I hope that Andrew will change his mind and come to realise that we need the release of D PRO (7.2) far more then a complete new platform. Maybe if we offer him cookies or a steak dinner ;-)

No, Andrew Boon has stated a few times that the next release of Dolphin (now known as Dolphin Pro) will be after the beta release of Dolphin U and will be version 7.2 beta.  After we test the beta and help with finding any bugs, they will release a Dolphin Pro 7.2.
