Hi to all,
I would like to remove the original template that was provided when I stated my site. I purchase another template a while back that I am using now. The original temple keeps showing up every so often, so I would like to get rid of it for good. Does anyone know how to go about doing this? The template that I am using now, I had it installed for me so I'm not too sure is I can get rid of the original template without some help?
Thanks in advance!

How can the previous template that is "uni" can show up if you have applied your custom template??????????????????????????????
You custom template installation must be wrong, i guess........... :)
so much to do.... |
Hi Prashank25,
I couldn't tell you either way if it was installed wrong. I wouldn't even know how to find out if it was or not? It was a free installation when I purchase the template from Dolphin.

The default UNI template cannot be removed.
If your new template was properly installed and your site is working properly then the UNI template should not appear.
Hacking dolphin to remove the uni template is not the solution. It would be a bandaid and would brake other areas of dolphin and may prevent updates from correctly installing.
Check in admin to make sure your new template is set as the default template.

Hi deano92964,
Yes, the template that I purchase is set as the default template. I went to the admin, settings, advance settings, template, it shows, DT - Max (Red)
I'm hoping that was the location of the admin, is what you meant?

have you made any changes in the custom template? so much to do.... |
Yes.
Then there is no reason that should be happening. So i can't explain it. I have never seen that happen before.

Hi again deano92964,
I email Dolphin support to see if they knew what could be causing the problem, and this is the answer that I got. It reads as follows,
There is nothing wrong with the template, the installation is as simple as it gets - upload folder - done. This template is used by hundreds of clients for a year and a half and there was no similar problems so far. The problem might lie in the cache of your website. Try to clean the cache completely (manually) using FTP.
As long as I have no idea what may cause this weird problem, you could use a "hack", just overwrite all files in the "uni" directory with the ones from Max template. This way even if it is loading accidentally the Uni template, it will still look like Max.
I have no idea what was being said to do? What is a "hack" and what am I suppose to do? I have not a clue.
I don't want to do anything that I do not understand completely. I would hate to cause other problems with the site that I have worked so hard to keeping it the way it is.
I always clean out the "cache" , so I'm not too sure if that is a solution to this problem?

They want you to replace all of the uni files with their template so later on if you want to uninstall their template, you can't.... sheesh.
I had the same problem with a template in dolphin 7.0.6 so I upgraded to dolphin 7.0.7 then 7.0.8 and now it works perfectly. I haven't had a problem since. Upgrading dolphin is a cinch...especially if I could do it.
I had another user suggest that I load dolphin to a subdomain then extract the uni files from that site to the main site, but I don't know if that would work...

Excuse for my english, another problem is that the link of my site on google at example links to the page of blog is post on uni template, I have set from the beginning the template that I purchased, and is work fine, but when one follows the link to certain pages of my site from google is change the template with the uni.. as a solution for now is I copied my template with its name uni so as not to delete each one but I can replace it.. may be an idea? So, if I update my template, does anyone think that may solve the problem? I am using 7.04 right now. I have though about updating but I'm not too sure how to go about that process? Earlier this morning my wife told me that when she tried going to the site, it was doing the same thing, showing the uni template. I as well notice the same when I tried. I have also notice when I get new members joining the site, the conformation e-mails even show as dolphin new member has join.
I would like to thank everyone in advance, for their help in trying to solve this problem for me.
