Request for Boonex, ESASE, and/or ilbellodelweb

With most of the world using smartphones today, mobile/WAP applications are extremely popular. When you think about it, when someone logs into Facebook using their smartphone, what exactly do they do? I would say 98% use their smartphones to... Post messages and photos to their wall.

So here is the issue:

ilbellodelweb -  Has the best 'Wall' module for Dolphin hand down, called SpyWall I am sure that I speak for anyone who is using that module.

ESASE -  Has a nice WAP module, but unfortunately no 'Wall' function. (The wall that is currently available is a 'Profile' wall only)

Boonex - Has iPhone and Android Apps, but no Wall.

Suggestions:

ESASE - Is it possible to work with ilbellodelweb in order to incorporate the spywall into your WAP module?

ilbellodelweb - Is it possible for you to work with ESASE with incorporating Spywall into his WAP module? If not, Could you and your developers create a 'Mobile App' that would use your SpyWall? You could actually create a new mobile app that uses all of your modules (1Col, 3Col, Spywall, and Megaprofile)

Boonex - You should really consider using SpyWall in your Own mobile apps.

My point is simple. Most all people who use their smartphones to access social sites, use them to post messages on a wall and upload photos. So why is it that we cannot do the same things with a Dolphin site? We have the resources and modules available, but no one has implemented them 'together'.

Great suggestion Zarcon. What I don't understand is that you as a Moderator have no pull in this matter?

Can you not influence the people who sit behind the wall to see it your way, for that matter to listen to some of the great suggestions made by many in these forums. Or are the egos so huge that it is there way or the highway.

My Moderator status doesn't really have any pull when it comes to making suggestions (although I wished it did).

I just think it would be a great addition to the Dolphin platform altogether. Hopefully enough other members can chime in here and maybe catch someone's attention :)

Boonex should never build anything around third party mods/hacks.  It would be best if Boonex just made "spy Wall" and "WAP" like modules of their own that can do what you are asking. I think it would definitely make an awesome addition to Dolphin.

I have mentioning this for the longest!! My members are requesting a mobile app for a while now. I know ESASE is will to work with ilbellodelweb but ilbellodelweb even though I post a message to him I have yet to response to this request. This would be an incredible creation. Please make this happen soon PLEASE!!

I do recall Andrew saying something about possibly integrating the Page Access Control from Anton ( I believe) into Dolphin as a standard at one time. Although this hasnt happened yet.

Personally I wouldn't mind 'how' or 'who' does this. I just think it would put Dolphin right in line with all the other websites that have this capability already.

A definite thumbs up from me on this.

What is the point in the iPhone and Android Apps if they don't incorporate the use of the Wall?

Why would you connect via your phone to a social network where the largest reason to have the social network isn't a function of your phone's app?

Crazy.  I was just about to buy the Apps too.

In Dolphin 7.1 - iPhone and Android Apps will support 3rd-party mods, so any developer will be able to extend their mods with mobile part.

Thanks for the reply AlexT, but I have an important question. Do we really have a good idea as to when 7.1 would even be close to release?

If we are looking at sometime next year, then my request could still be done instead of waiting another year before 7.1 gets released. Also, not really sure what it will take or cost for 3rd party developers to 'integrate' their products into the Boonex mobile app.

I'd love to see this integration of functionality!

Honestly!! I am losing members all because I don't have mobile app option. They have been requesting it and I can't provide one to then yet. This is absolutely terrible on Boonex part to wait this long to implement this. I spent thousand of dollors on my site only to be losing members all because of Boonex slow development on this. COME ON NOW. do better than this boonex.

I believe that script will be usable on beta stages, and it should definitely happen in this year.

3rd-party modules for mobile app will be written using regular html/css/php/mysql - so it shouldn't be a problem for developers to update theirs mods.
