Rms Help

Can someone give me some troubleshooting ideas,

I am running d7 on linux with all requirements(suphp)

I installed Rms on my vps, and I am getting an unable to connect to rms in admin. I double check to see if the ports are open and my host (eboundhost) verified the installation of the rms was correctly installed and running. In addition to the "unable to connect to RMS", video files that I had attempted to upload, do not appear to be in .flv format  or any media format, file type shows as file, so I receive a "video not found" error, but it generates a thumbnail for the video.

for the video upload:  check if the cron is working properly... I had same issue before but until i setup the cron properly.
