Says users online when their Not ??

I have developed a issue where is says users are online when they are not ??

there is a setting in your admin panel to where you set the number of seconds a member shows as being online after they have logged out. the methodology used here is not the most user-friendly, but it has been this way from the beginning, and i dont see anything changing as to how members are shown as being online or offline. the other part of that is well known as well, is that if a member logs in and is in chat, lack of activity on the pages will show a member as being offline, when they are in fact in chat.

so there is no mechanism that shows logged in or logged out, moreso of when a session starts. there have been many inquiries as to updating or upgrading the method of which a member shows online/offline, but nothing has been implemented as best i know. all we can do as members is keep asking about this function and hope that it can be heard at some point.
