When searching is there a way to add COUPLES to search for?

Right now it is just MAN/Women.

Sure!

in your admin, go to builders, then profile fields, then click on looking for, then hit the advanced button, then the word sex will be in blue, hit that, and then in Lang 2 i think just add in couples, and then you can move the title to the top if you like and then hit save, and there you are.

Good luck

Derrick

and yes you can add couple there also, but they already chose the couples profile right?

so no need in adding that,(yes i did that also)

But as I am finding out there is a lot wrong with the couples profile,

Not that easy bummer.

When you add a field in Looking For It also adds them to SEX.

So now instead of MALE, FEMALE in sex you start getting the couple option which are not needed because you select Couple before that splitting the profiles.

Exactly, you will have to put it only in the right lang section,

I think I am going to start re doing the join in page and the profile view page, because the couples part doesn't work perfectly yet, and the end result doesnt show a lot of the topics for the second person, and the avatar doesnt work either,

let me know if you figure it out, if not I can see what i can do to help

good luck

Has anyone figured out how to add it, so that you can search for a couple?

Thanks in advance,

Glen

It's actually quite simple.

Log into admin, select Builders>Profile Fields, open the Search editor.  Now drag into your search options the inactive item called "Couple".  This will give an option for people to search Single or Couple profiles.  If they select couple, it will return only couple profiles.

But it's broke and you need to apply this simple fix for the search to return properly: http://www.boonex.com/trac/dolphin/changeset?old_path=%2F&old=13752&new_path=%2F&new=13752

mauricecano thank you so much for your help.

Now, I have a wish.  I wish if there was a way to the couples profile avatar be changed so that just one photo can be uploaded.  It's not working well with two photos.

Thanks,

Glen

I deided to change the logic for searching for couples and create a profile field called Relationship Status. This indicates whether they are :

Married Couple
Dating Couple
Engaged Couple
Widowed Male
Widowed Female
Single Male
Single Female

This is on the join form and is a mandatory field.

Then under the Search Profiles located in Fields Builder, I modified the Looking For to indicate the same values from the Relationship Status as a checkbox field (so more than one can he chosen) and set the MATCHING to be the Relationship Status.

Any feedback or thoughts on this logic?
