Shoutbox

Is there any way of filtering the words people type into Shoutbox? Similar to Chris's Join form filter?

Thanks Andrey, would be useful. I had to disable shoutbox on the home page due to some mindless idiots. A shame because I think it helps attract people to the site.

Check RayShoutboxMessages table in sql. (with phpmyadmin). You can delete rows here, but anyone can write an admin panel extra for you.

There is a free mod for the shoutbox, in admin you can delete messages from the shoutbox..

I have the Shoutbox/admin control and it works brilliantly. What I want is to be able to stop given words from being accepted. I want to be able to re-enable my Shoutbox on Home Page.

Working on it - almost done - this will be even greater than that - one admin control panel, censor everything.  It's almost finished.

and yes the shoutbox control 2 is the only one this time, you can delete messages or all..

I think what your looking for is a forbidden word blocker script

its a script that checks against a file where you list forbidden words and it ensures those words are replaced with ****

You could try speaking to the designer of this one and see if it works

It will be done this weekend, maybe 24-48 hours - it was a lot more integratio than I thought, and with all my side projects, and my site - can anyone say NO SLEEP.  lol

Real soon, site wide dolphin censoring, including ray chat, im, shoutbox, orca, and all input throughout dolphin site.  Admin managed panel - turn off censoring, or turn off a certain part.  Nickame filter - if any match hits a bad word, nickname is denied (can also be turned on/off) - optimized routine, during a normal call - like in blogs, maybe 5 fields get processed, my routines only access database once - runs fast, no performance decrease.

Sounds like a plan chris...this is one of the things that should be in dolpin to begin with...censoring!

Whether one chooses to use it or not, it should definately be available, so many other scripts have some form of filtering. Not all sites are free for all adult anything goes.

This will certainly be one a lot of members will be after if you get it figured out.

By the way the signature thing is total SHIT, censor that...if you provide something of use for FREE I might add like this...and someone whines about a link or whatever back to your site...is a total ass. There are so many blogs and forums with links. Give me a break who's to say one is ok but not yours.

I don't see anyone else going out of there way, and offering this up for free. One might need to register at your site to grab the download sure. But the same can be said about this boonex unity or expertzzz for that matter. So I personally don't see the harm in it for what you are offering.

I am also willing to bet those that have bitched about you or myself or any others that post links back to there site...there are plenty...Are more than willing to join your site just for the sole ability to download this for free. And many others are certainly going to take advantage of it.

So if it wasn't posted here with your link, most wouldn't even be able to find it.

I for one am so far in support of your work. If half of these folks new how much time was involved with something like this, and then to offer it for free they might have a different opinion.

Most just want FREE...FREE...FREE!! They don't realize or comprehend the work involved, then they bitch because you posted a few links to your site. Screw them...if they don't like it...At least you are not posting these, and quality mods I might ad at expertzzz for $50 a pop. If the boonex guys posted these it would be cool. And others would jump all over them for $50 or more. But god forbid post a link to a free bee.
