Shoutbox not keeping message

my Shoutbox not keeping message any more, just stop.

i'm write and  send message in the Shoutbox and i see hem but affter few minute the message disappear  from the Shoutbox.

any explanation for this problem ?

go to admin panel/modules/shoutbox/ put 0 for "Clean message older than (sec)"

Thanks for the pointer. Had the same problem. Though does putting in a value of zero, does that mean the the shoutbox messages NEVER clear?

This is Boonex's way of shoutbox administration.  Instead of giving us a way to selectively delete messages, they had the brilliant idea of deleting all of the messages every few minutes.

Very clever.... isn't it?

Or if you're really lucky, they won't delete at all. And if you are really, really lucky, they will delete after every refresh.

Yes. It is a missing link. My current site has an admin link for the admin to clear the chat. Of course, if there is an issue where you need to dump it, it wouldn't be that difficult to open the admin screen and temporarily change the 0 to a 1 until it clears, then reset it to 0?

Although it would be much easier if someone just added a little scriplet to do that for us from the shoutbox itself eh?

I have two sites, on one the messages have been there now for 28 days and on the other the message are gone after a few minutes.  Both have the exact same settings.  Strange.

If setting the clean option to zero keeps them from being deleted, shouldn't using a correct setting scroll them off within the time set?  I tried setting for 43200 seconds which is 12 hours, and they still gone after a few minutes.

Duh... I tried all kinds of values, and they still kept disappearing after a few minutes, even with a blank field (I guess there's a default somewhere?), but dumb me didn't even think to try the obvious zero...

My programmer installed it and it looks active, but i'm not able to enter a message?
