Show new members on user's dashboard page?

Hello,

How do I edit the code or create a block that shows members (such as new, recently active, etc)

on each user's dashboard/ account control page, just like on the homepage of the site?

I'd imagine this is possible, but it would require some editing of the database to have the block display. I'll create a new test environment to see how you can go about doing it properly.
