Sidebar Search Criteria using predefined lists?

Hello there,

Is it possible to edit the "Search" criteria to different predefined list?

Also another question: Is it possible to edit the "bottom bars" selection? I ideally want to strip the right hand side right down, but I can only find a way to change the left hand side.
