Site Avatars - How do they work?

This may seem like a stupid question ... or maybe it has something to do with the fact that I'm running Ubuntu 9.10 with the latest Firefox + Flash Plugin ???

When I log into the admin account, there's a section for site avatars. A whole ton of them, several little mini-pages that I can scroll through. All of them already have a checkmark in them which would indicate to me that they're ready to be used. But other than browsing through and viewing, I can't seem to do anything else with them ??? Are those avatars strictly available for user accounts and not the admin? Are they only available when a person signs up initially? Where's the folder located if I would like to replace those avatars with my own? Thanks a bunch for your time.

Greetings from Florida.

Below is the legacy version of the Boonex site, maintained for Dolphin.Pro 7.x support.
