Site Stats

How do I remove some of the site stats? I am not giving access to a few parts of my site to guests like videos and sounds, etc. Site stats shows those figures and allows the user to access them. I tried to comment them out of the sys_stat_site.inc which I assume is used for the template. But it will not allow me to overwrite the file. Anyone else know how to do this ?

What I really would like is just a simple way to show how many registered members are on the site. I think that is a good selling point.

thanks,

Hank

Why not go into Admin Panel>Settings>Membership levels and click the non-member level. Choose Select all and then choose disable. This way the non-member can "see" what is on your site, but not access it.

Just a suggestion..

Nothing to see here

yeah, I have that done. But I have certain things that are also disabled site wide. I don't allow video or sounds yet for anyone. So I wouldnt want them showing for anyone regardless of their membership level.

thanks for reply

You need to pull them from the site stats table that is called in the DB.  Not hard, just go in, take a look and pull the ones you don't want out by deleting them from the table.

Clear your cache afterwards and they'll be gone.

Make sure you keep track of the ones you delete (screenshot is great, just click edit for that specific item and then take a screen shot of it) so you can put them back in later if you need to.

I dont get what table you are talking about. I looked at the sys_stat_site.inc file and it basically calls a count from various tables. I dont see where this data is stored though. do u know the table name ?

What did you end up actually deleting?

I would like to do the same on my site.

I deleted the fields out of the site stats table in the database and then deleted sys_stat.inc  So just delete the fields that you dont want to report on and you should be good to go.
