I have tried searching for an answer to this, but have not found one...
On the index page, I want to display the site stats. but if a person is not signed on, they can still click a link on the site stats to go to that catagory. With no problems or errors... But, as I have my setup to do a confirmation email, if the person logs in and is not confirmed, then it gives them the error message saying so...
So all an un-confirmed person would need to do is log-off and then click on a link in the Site Stats box, and it would work.
So can the links be disabled for guests as well as the un-confirmed?

No takers on this one? I know how to remove and add stuff to the Site Stats, and how to remove the links for everyone... but if the links have to be there, is there a way to restrict the page, just like an un-confirmed member?

You can choose whether that block is visible for guests and members on admin>page builder>Homepge
Just click on the Site Stats block and uncheck 'Guests'
My opinions expressed on this site, in no way represent those of Boonex or Boonex employees. |
Umm no, that is not what he means. I have the same problem. I would like the unregistered visitors (guests) to be able to see the stats of the website (it DOES attract more users) but the problem is that if it is visible to the guest, the guest then can click for example on the "xxx members" link and go in the members area and see the members, even if the "members" block/page is set for viewing permission only for members.
I would like to know too if there is a fix for this.

Sorry.. I misunderstood.
There's no member privacy settings anywhere in Dolphin without adding some hack job of a mod from 'epertzzz', so this kind of thing comes as no surprise.
What really cracks me up is that there is a number of people that believe Dolphin is God's gift to the social networking world. The truth is, Dolphin 6.1.4 is a coding nightmare, is missing some really basic core features, and has a really Mickey-Mouse back end. I'm just waiting around for Rev. 7, to see what's different. If you want features that should be standard in any serious social networking script, you are directed to expertzzz.com, which I think would be more aptly named... conjobzzz.com. The developers in Bishkek don't have time to add a photo album feature to Dolphin, but they have all kinds of time to create all sorts of photo album mods and sell them on 'expertzzz'.
If it weren't for the video chat, I'd ditch this script. At first glance, Dolphin looks like a pretty cool script, but that's just on the surface. The more you dig, the more disappointing it becomes.

Exactly. the only thing is the audio-video chat. |
Bummer, Nothing promising for an answer as of yet.....
I agree that the more you dig into the workings and customizing of Dolphin, the more buggy it seems to be... I will be anxiously awaiting ver7. But until then, I am hoping that some coderzzz or hackerzzz who know a little more about Dolphin than I do, can help me out...

You need to install the site stat mod from the expertzzz site.
Or
make a new block thats exact same as the current site stat block without the links and only have it viewable for guests.
Not that hard.
Did it in 10mins here..........but dont need it.
