Sites Module - ShrinkTheWeb

I received this email this morning and wsa wondering how this will affect the Sites Module:

On Monday March 31st, 2014, ShrinkTheWeb will be deprecating the Preview Verification Page (PVP) offering. Starting on that date, STW will stop showing actual screenshots and will display an "Upgrade Your Code" image instead.

Updating your code is as simple as logging and in copy/pasting your customized, embedded method sample code (found in the lobby). Alternatively, you may integrate using our sample advanced method APIs.

You may still use the STW "Free Account Level" but you will need to update your code before the termination date of March 31st, 2014. Thank you!

I'm tired of STW.  I think they canceled my account for some unexplained reason.  When I have the time, I think I'll just patch some of the template files to use these guys:

Just add your own site in the url and see what a good FREE screen shot you can get these days.  Who needs STW.... besides.... that guy from stw that popped in here in here once in a while, was about as useful as a screen door on a submarine.

 I was going to mention that earlier, and all that hub bub about winning the contest to get incorporated with the module.

The PVP removal wont affect the Boonex Sites module because the integration is done per advanced API and not just PVP call ...

STW cancelled my account too... apparently they expect us to log into their website every few months to prove we're still interested... waste of time.  It would be great if someone would find/create a better alternative.  I've never like how STW works (or should work) with the Sites module.

Pressed print screen on my keyboard and had a full page screen shot in less then a second. 

webthumbnail.org was a little slow for a while, but it seems like it's back up to speed... takes about 5 seconds now.

webthumbnail.org is a hobby site and the posted example screenshot doesn't look so great (all grey image with an ugly watermark). I don't understand why the few "loud" members of the Dolphin forum were/are so negative about the undisputed best screenshot service around, but there are many happy Dolphin users that let us know we are doing a good job. They just don't speak up, with all the negativity and untrue slander, the way "some people" do. ;)

Just for reference: If a user does not make a request within 6-months (180 days) OR at least login within that time; then we assume that the account is no longer active. Since we pay an email service provider to store our contacts, so we can communicate important changes, upgrades, new features, etc; we deactivate dormant accounts/emails to save money. Nothing unusual in that. Just being prudent. ;)

This must be the joke of the day, come into a thread where the last post was back in early March 2014.

Searching for something and come across an old thread that merits a comment so that others have accurate or updated information (or just to share thoughts in some cases). Happens all the time on the Internet. :) 

 A lot of people have been wondering what happened to him after "Jersey Shore" went off the air.. I guess he went from being "The Situation" to being an internet troll?

Business must be.a little slow??  Anyway, you web capture services are all alike.  The free account bs is just a means to goad people into upgrading to a paid account, and if they don't, their account gets nuked. It's a shitty business model.

Nope. Just helping a Dolphin user get going and was seeing if we ever posted a walkthrough in the BoonEx forums. The "Freemium" business model is not limited to web capture services. It is quite prevalent these days and makes the most sense for everyone involved. A Free account with ShrinkTheWeb remains free for as long as it stays active. That's very generous and much more than most businesses that offer "Freemium" models. ;)

Nice to see you are still spreading negativity around the BoonEx forums after all these years. Every forum needs a colorful character. :P
