Somebody explain to me....

....how a users 'online' status is determined.

If I'm logged into my site, I'm online right?   Or am I missing something?

My opinions expressed on this site, in no way represent those of Boonex or Boonex employees.

houston, i have been going round and round with this faction as well. the short answer is NO, just because you are logged in does not mean you are online. the script is coded in a manner where it requires movement across the site via the browser. so if you are inactive, you are considered offline.

problem with that is that there is no communication with flash apps and dolphin in relation to the online indicator.

hope this helps.

Dawg, I can navigate all over the place like Magellan, but I am still shown as offline.  In my world, logged in = online.

You a re become logged in after you login to the site, you become offline after some X time of inactivity. If you leave Dolphin page for several hours you will be still online, because there are background queries every X second to update this online status. After you close Dolphin page at all you become offline after X time.
